Size & Fit
Learn how to take accurate body measurements and choose the fit that supports both comfort and the intended silhouette of your jacket.
Before you measure
A correct measurement is only part of a successful fit. The jacket style, layering preference and intended silhouette also matter. A café racer usually sits closer to the body than a relaxed bomber or leather overshirt.
Use a flexible tailoring tape rather than a metal construction tape.
Measure over a fitted shirt, not over a bulky jacket or heavy sweater.
Another person will usually produce more reliable shoulder and sleeve measurements.
Body measurements
Stand naturally, keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body, and do not pull it tight. Record each measurement twice in either centimetres or inches—never mix units.
Use the measuring positions below; the diagram should not replace the written instructions.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, beneath the arms and across the shoulder blades. Keep your arms relaxed. Do not expand your chest.
Measure around the natural waist without pulling the stomach inward. This is not necessarily the waistband position of your trousers.
Measure around the area where the jacket hem is expected to sit. For longer styles, the fullest seat measurement may also be required.
Measure across the back from one natural shoulder point to the other, following the slight curve of the upper back.
With the arm slightly bent, measure from the shoulder point, over the outside of the elbow, to the wrist bone.
Measure around the fullest part of the upper arm with the muscle relaxed and the tape comfortably close.
Measure from the prominent bone at the base of the neck straight down the centre back to the preferred jacket hem.
Stand without shoes against a flat wall and record your complete height. Height helps us review the proportions of submitted measurements.
Measuring accurately
Leather may soften and conform with wear, but it should not be expected to correct an unsuitable size or incorrect proportions.
Choosing your route
The available ordering method is shown on each product page. Measurements help us review fit, but they do not automatically make a jacket bespoke.
Choose the size that best corresponds with the verified product size chart.
Submit the requested body measurements for review before production.
Fit preference
Fit is influenced by the clothing worn underneath. Select the preference offered on the product page or provide a short note during ordering.
| Preference | Typical use | Consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Close | Usually worn over a T-shirt or light knit | Clean silhouette with limited layering room |
| Regular | Worn over a shirt or medium knit | Balanced comfort and structure |
| Relaxed | Intended for heavier layering | More ease while preserving the design’s shape |
These are fit descriptions, not universal garment measurements. The construction and intended ease vary by jacket style.
Before production
Select the design, leather, colour and available options.
Choose a standard size or supply measurements in one consistent unit.
We check for obvious inconsistencies and contact you if clarification is needed.
Production begins after the required information has been confirmed.
Questions
Use body measurements unless the product page or our team specifically asks for garment measurements. They are not interchangeable.
No. Submit accurate body measurements. Required wearing ease is considered according to the jacket style and selected fit preference.
Compare the key measurements shown in the product-specific chart and contact us before ordering. We may request additional measurements before recommending the appropriate route.
Leather can soften and conform with wear, but it should not be relied upon to correct an unsuitable size. A new jacket should fasten without severe pulling and permit natural movement.
Accurate measurements materially improve the review process, but remote measurement does not provide the same certainty as an in-person fitting. Fit also depends on posture, preference and the selected silhouette.
Return eligibility can differ for standard-size and measurement-adjusted products. Read the Returns & Exchanges policy before ordering and contact us before production begins if any detail is incorrect.
